Artists worth checking out

So while blogger.com was down for most of the weekend, I came across some excellent "new" bands to share with my readers here.

Sequencia

Sequencia is a really rad synthpop band from Argentinia. This youtube clip I just posted was in my recommendation section on my home page on youtube. I had to check it out and of course the rest is history. Turns out they are on A Different Drum records. Given their sound, it is no surprise that they would be on ADD.

Foretaste

Foretaste is a French electropop band. When I was checking out the aforementioned Sequencia video clip, I noticed the Foretaste' video of their cover of Garbage's "Stupid Girl". Being the huge Garbage fan that I am, I just had to check out the band's version of one of my favorite Garbage songs. I personally love it but I'm sure there are and will be detractors of this cover song.

Zedna

Zedna is a Mexican synthpop band. They remind me quite a bit of Sequencia if you ask me. <3 this band.

Celluloide

This is the other band that features Foretaste's lead singer.

Silica Gel

Silica Gel is a terrific synthpop act from Spain.

Eloquent

Eloquent is really what lead me to come across all these bands last night. This clip I just posted essentially started a chain reaction.

Rarely do I come across so many "new" bands in one night but I did last night. I honestly have no patience for those (like a former friend of mine) who bitches and moans about the lack of new music and then in the same breath says she is too tired to look for it. People like her do not get one iota of sympathy from me.

  1. Hmmm...that Stupid Girl cover isn't bad. They put a new spin on the song, which is something I generally look for in a cover. Fun find!
