Hanabie with Left to Suffer and Outline in Color at Varsity Theater 05.21.24
Tuesday night, I went back to the Varsity Theater in Dinkytown to see the Japanese metalcore band Hanabie with Left to Suffer and Outline in Color. I didn't do the VIP Meet and Greet like I did for Battle Beast last week. I am being very mindful of my budget although I do have the $. I decided to just spend my money on merch at the show, and that I did. I got a shirt and keychain. Here is all the photos and videos from Tuesday's show. It was a fantastic show. Japanese metal/rock bands such as Band-Maid Hanabie is proof that people will go see them outside the US and in particular the US. I hope bands like Nemophila and Bridear will be next to visit the midwest because the only parts of they US they have toured here so far is the East and West coast.
All three bands sounded great live. I enjoyed watching the audience mosh and crowd surf during all three sets. Someone even showed up to the venue dressed up as a panda, I was highly amused by their presence. Probably stayed dry when it was raining cats and dogs that evening. I just hope that the person doesn't have that mindset that Pandas are part of Japanese culture, they are not. They are part of Chinese culture, and not all Asian cultures are the same. There are 48 countries in the continent of Asia that has their own culture and traditions.
