My Current Favorite Songs of the Week

TGIF! There is a ton of new music on this week's mix. Enjoy!

Some thoughts: Based on my initial listens to the new albums by Lady Gaga and Sasami which dropped last week, both albums were enjoyable. Going to listen to more of their albums this morning. Right now, I am listening to Mayhem. So far the music is holding up really well with me. When the first single "Disease" came out, I really wasn't a huge fan but I have definitely come around on the track. It sounds better than when I first heard it a few months ago. "Vanish Into You" is definitely my top favorite song off the album. Other favorite songs includes: "LoveDrug" and "How Bad Do U Want Me". 

Yesterday, Naomi Aurora's (from Helalyn Flowers) solo album Kintsugi (Disaster version) and Fathlomless Skywalker's Anthems of the Resilient dropped so I was able to get music from those albums on this week's mix. I have been a fan of the Japanese symphonic metal band Fathlomless Skywalker since 2022. Discovered the band on YouTube.

I am not going to apologize for this but I actually like the new Rebecca Black EP Salvation. Yeah that Rebecca Black. Sure "Friday" was an annoying pop song back in the day but Rebecca has grown up and matured as an artist. Also, "Friday" was 14 years ago. She ain't teenager anymore. Adults needs to give her some grace, she was bullied enough by online trolls enough. Salvation is a fun dance/pop song. After listening to a motley of metal albums during the work day, Salvation is a nice reprieve from heavy metal music.
