My Current Top 20 Favorite Albums of 2025

Asides from the current political climate in the USA, 2025 has been stellar when it comes to music. I thought I would share what my top 20 favorite 2025 releases at the present moment. There were a lot of albums I left off this top 20 list. I really wanted to keep it to 20 so albums by Serenity in Murder, Deathless Legacy, Fathomless Skywalker, Ghost Cop, Sunken, Miki Berenyi Trio, and Arch Enemy (just to name a handful) had to be left off the list. All of these band's new albums are fantastic. This list just represents my current mood. For my annual end of the year list, I will probably do a Top 50 because of all the excellent albums I have heard this year.

My taste in music this year has been very diverse from pop/dance to darkwave and heavy metal music, with a good dose of Mexican Americana/folk music. I especially have been listening to a lot of indie rock which includes the sounds of dreampop/shoegaze. I also have gotten back into darkwave music again. I took a few years off from the genre because it just got repetitive to my ears.
