My Top 5 Current Favorite Albums of the Week
I definitely like this new format from 10 albums to 5 albums. I find it so much easier to put together a small list of my favorite albums I listened to in the past seven days. I might change things up a bit in the new year (2026) and post this weekly list like at the end of week (such as Sunday).
If you have not heard of the Minneapolis dream pop/shoegaze band She's Green (might have been on the Star Tribune's website), you should now. I recently discovered them online. The Minneapolis band recently dropped a new EP called Chrysalis. As a music fan who has been listening to a lot of shoegaze and dream pop music this year, this band is right up my alley. Their new ep is a follow up to Wisteria. Really breezy, dreamy pop music with jingly guitar riffs which is perfect to listen to in the dog days of summer.
Thanks to the algorithm on Instagram, I came across Cat Burns. She is a British singer/songwriter. Thanks to Tik Tok, she gained prominence with her single Go when I looked her up online. That wasn't the song that made me a fan, it is her new single All This Love, a beautiful, moving song about grief. The song showed up in my algorithm, and I was automatically hooked. Over the weekend, I listened to Cat's 2024 debut album, and it is so good.

I also discover Glass Spells on Spotify and really loved their brand of synthpop music. I forgot where I found Wisp's music. Might have been on Spotify too.
After a glowing review of the new Molly Tuttle album on NPR's All Songs Considered last week, I had to check it out today and loved it. Definitely will have to look into her other albums.
