Random thoughts

I decided to post something different today because it needs to be said, and that there are people that needs to be called out big time given this trash political climate.

As part of my local goth community in the Twin Cities, I find this particular FB post from the Florida goth community group .It is appalling and I condemn the participation of fascism from this ding dong to censor those speaking up for marginalized groups of people whether immigrants or trans. Everything about this particular post goes against democracy when people's voices are being removed from online groups. Against Nazis my ass. You can't be against Nazis when you are removing members of an online community for speaking out against fascism. TTBH remaining silent on the actions of the regime is enabling them. Frankly, I have no patience or tolerance for those who won't say shit about what the regime is doing to immigrants, LGBTQIA community, and healthcare access for cisgender women and trans people.

Considering the terror of the regime that subjected my home state and city to this past winter (BTW...ICE goons are still in MN, just further south or north of the metro area) or doing to trans people who have every right to exist everywhere including the goth scene, to silence the voices by removing them from online communities is not democratic and it is very much so participating in fascism. Do I need to remind white people in the goth community how fascism can harm them? Renee Good and Alex Pretti have been murdered by ICE goons. 85 year old French woman Marie-Therese Ross-Mahe was detained by ICE for 90s in Louisiana but she eventually was deported, and returned home to France and to her family which not many immigrants don't have that luxury. Some have died in one of those awful concentration camps. Staying silent is completely unacceptable. I am glad to see members of the goth and industrial scenes speaking out against the regime, especially those who lack melanin and are cisgender.

Anyhoo...I am so glad that the majority of the comments on this post has been calling out this ding dong's post. BTW...if this moron actually knew what anti-authoritarianism was, he would know that standing up against fascism is okay. Kicking people out of online groups is NOT anti-authoritarianism. Bitching about "virtue signaling" and "transprogressive" (apparently a new made up word by transphobic assholes) is essentially virtue signaling, everything about that post from that right wing clown is "virtue signaling".

My solution for idiots who don't want to discuss politics, start your own damn online goth community with strict (and ridiculous) guidelines that insists on sticking to music.

BTW...if you are the type of person who agrees with that post and that BS group Goths Against Cancel Culture and read my blog/follow my FB page, I really don't need you has a fan.

Queer Origins of Punk and Industrial Rock

The Queer History of Industrial music (1975-1985)

My point? Music is and always has been political. It has been political since slave owners banned slaves from owning drums. Also, Sister Rosetta Tharpe founded the electric guitar sound in rock and roll music, a queer, Black woman.
