My Current Favorite Songs of the Week

TGIF! Here is this week's mix, enjoy!

Some thoughts:
01. Occult metal band Deathless Legacy recently dropped a new single "Miserere" from their upcoming album Damnatio Aeterna. The song is a major banger. I have been listening to it constantly on Spotify and YouTube. I discovered the band back in 2023 but really didn't get into them until 2024.

02. Last weekend I started watching the Kdrama Light Shop on Disney+ (and absolutely hooked on the limited series). On Wednesday night, I watched episode 4 and towards the end of the episode, "The Place Where the Wind Blows" by the late folk artist and activist Kim Kwang Seok is played and I just fell in love with the song. It is a beautiful folk song, and based on the lyrics, it really captures the mood of the scene that it was inserted into on that particular episode. I also loved the ballad "When the Rain Stops" by Kim Boa also featured on the show like at the ending credits for episode 5. FYI...in East and Southeast Asian cultures, the familiar name comes first, and the birth name comes second. In western cultures, Kwang Seok Kim and Boa Kim is how they would be presented, in Korean culture Kim Kwang Seok and Kim Boa.  Just throwing that out there as a fun fact.
