Playlist of the Week

It has been what seems like forever since I updated my Sounds of Asia: Heavy Metal playlist so over the weekend, I decided to update it. I did noticed that Spotify removed certain albums from their catalog, mainly Mysterain's (Chinese folk/metal band) first two albums After the End of the Valley and Fall of the Song Dynasty . Fortunately their albums can be heard on other streaming platforms like YouTube and Bandcamp. Not sure why those albums were removed, the band could have done it or the folks at Spotify did it. At least there are alternative ways to listen to them. Their most recent album A Thousand Dusts from 2024 is still on Spotify. Secondly, I edited out all the songs that were no longer listenable and replaced them with some new songs.

Late last year, Spotify did finally have Paradoxx's debut album Gyakusetuno Singularity. If there are fans of Band-Maid, Lovebites, and other female fronted J-metal bands, I definitely recommend checking out Gyakusetuno Singularity. I have a couple of songs from the album on my mix. 

The new Serenity in Murder single "God Forsaken" is a major melodeath banger. It is so good.
