My Top 10 Current Favorite Albums of the Week
Got lots of new releases on this week's list. Absolutely love the new Lacuna Coil album. I love this darker, heavier sound the band has taken in recent years. Their music reminds me of the Swedish symphonic metal band Eleine, my current favorite metal band. I prefer this current direction in their sound than their previous sound which was a hit or miss with me because a lot of their music sounded the same to me. Late last year I discovered the pagan metal sounds of Scandinavian artist Vermilia who recently dropped a new album last Friday Karsikko. She did not disappoint with her third album. Vermilia really puts out some great pagan metal. I recommend all of her albums.
Outside of heavy metal genre, I have been digging the new releases by Sharon Van Etten, Oklou, and Angie.K. I discovered these three artists on NPR's All Songs Considered either in the past 2 years or in recent months.
