Cover songs that are better than the original version

This post was inspired by a tweet by Charlotte Clymer, an LGBTQ activist I follow on Twitter. She had tweeted out this afternoon that she will never accept Natalie Imbruglia's version of "Torn" is a cover. Well it got me to thinking about cover songs that are actually better than the origina versions.
