Some of my favorite heavy metal releases of 2024

With 2024 slowly winding down, I have started thinking about my end of the year best of lists today. I decided to post an unofficial list of my favorite heavy metal releases that came out this year. I will post an official and final list sometime next month. This list is random and is not based on rank. I definitely plan on writing out a long list of all the metal releases I listened to and liked before creating a final list. 

I can definitely say Nightwish is NOT on this list or will be on any best of list from me. Yesterwynde was as boring as Human :ll: Nature was to me. I found both of those albums pretentious and dull. There I said it. I recently discovered the Brazilian symphonic metal band Soulwitch. Their debut album Principium is the album Nightwish SHOULD HAVE made. Go on Spotify and give their music a listen. Their album is incredible. 

2024 has been a fantastic year for metal. I'm think my top five metal releases will include albums by Exit Eden, Soulwitch, Pirate Queen, Visions of Atlantis, and League of Distortion.
