My Current Favorite Songs of the Week
TGIF! Here is this week's playlist. Got lots of new music on this week's mix.
Earlier this week, the Japanese folk/rock band WagikkiBand dropped a new album, and fellow Japanese Band-Maid released 2 volumes of music celebrating their 10 year anniversary as well as a new single called "Shambles". I will be seeing Band-Maid on Sunday night. Best of all, long time fave Sensuous Enemy dropped a new EP called "Fire in the Dark", the song kicks ass. Right now, my current favorite band is the Canadian band Mother Tongues. I discovered them via NPR's All Songs Considered (last week's episode). They sound like they would have fit right in on the 4AD record label, post-punk/dreampop sound. Go check them out! I also discovered last week Hounds of Bayanay, a Siberian folk/metal band. Really dig their sound. If people like The Hu, Hanggai, and Nine Treasures, I think they would dig Hounds of Bayanay.
