My current favorite songs of the week
Happy Friday!
This week has been a great week for music. I finally got to see Chvrches live and tonight I am seeing the '90s rock band Belly. Chvrches was fantastic live. I am glad I snagged a seat in the balcony. I didn't want to deal with the sea of people as someone who is short and under 5 feet. I have included a couple of songs from the band for this week's playlist.
Although not featured on my playlist nor can you stream any of the music online but the new Autumn's Grey Solace album Eocene is wonderful. You can download it for $5 off their bandcamp page which I have posted the link at the bottom of the page.
Today I listened to the new !distain track "Maid of Freedom" from their new EP of the same title. It is so good. This song is certainly one of the best synthpop tracks I have heard in 2018. I have been listening to it on youtube for most of the day. I ended up downloading the band's EP off bandcamp for just under $5. I hope this means there is a new !distain album somewhere in the near future.
Valerie Renay just released a second single from her excellent album Your Own Shadow called Hollow. Check it out. It is my current favorite song from her solo album. I really like the textured sounds that weaves through out the song.
Listened to some of the new album Hive Mind by The Internet. At the moment, I am not feeling it but I do like a couple of tracks from the album which I have included on this week's playlist. I will have to listen to it this again to really let the music sink into my subconsciousness.
As for as local music is concerned, I have another track from Tiny Deaths, and a couple of tracks from Autumn and Zwaremachine. I definitely need to make more of a point to include local music on my playlists. Although Claire from Tiny Deaths has moved out to California, I do still consider her local.
